A DIFFERENT WAY TO STAFF THE PROJECT
Add Project Capacity
Not Another Employee
When submittals, RFIs, and project documentation start to pile up, your PMs and superintendents shouldn’t be stuck behind a computer.
Our Remote Project Engineer services give you the experienced back-office support you need to keep your projects moving—without the time, cost, and risk of hiring another employee.
Built By a Project Manager Who Has Managed the Work
Remote Project Engineer was built by construction professionals who understand what happens when submittals are late, RFIs sit unanswered, procurement falls behind, and your PM spends more time managing paperwork than managing the project.
This isn’t generic virtual assistance. It’s construction project support built around the way U.S. contractors actually work.
You Don’t Need Another W-2
Construction workloads change. One project gets buried in submittals and RFIs while another slows down. Hiring another full-time employee means salary, payroll taxes, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, equipment, software, and another person to keep busy when the workload changes.
Remote Project Engineer gives you project capacity when you need it—without adding permanent overhead.
Your PM Should Be Managing the Project
Your Project Manager and Superintendent should be managing the work, coordinating the field, solving problems, and dealing with the owner—not spending hours updating logs, chasing submittals, following up on RFIs, and organizing project documentation.
That’s the work we take off their desk.
Construction Support. Not Virtual Assistance.
We’re not selling generic overseas administrative help. Remote Project Engineer is built around actual U.S. construction workflows—submittals, RFIs, document control, procurement tracking, project reporting, and scheduling support.
Your team runs the field. We handle the work behind it.
ADD PROJECT CAPACITY. NOT ANOTHER EMPLOYEE
Construction project support without adding another W-2

BUILT BY A PROJECT MANAGER WHO HAS MANAGED THE WORK
JAMES ERIC ORSILLO
Remote Project Engineer was founded by James Eric Orsillo, a construction Project Manager with hands-on experience managing complex public works, water and wastewater, and infrastructure projects across the United States.
James has worked directly with owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, field teams, and government agencies—managing the same submittals, RFIs, procurement issues, schedules, documentation, and project demands RPE now helps contractors manage remotely.
BUILT FROM THE PROJECT MANAGER’S SIDE OF THE DESK
RPE grew from a problem James experienced firsthand: Project Managers and Superintendents spending too much of their day chasing paperwork instead of managing the work.
Remote Project Engineer was built to change that.
We provide experienced construction support behind your field team—keeping project documentation, coordination, follow-up, and administrative workload moving while your PM and Superintendent remain in control of the project.
Your team runs the field. We handle the work behind it.

“After spending months hiring and training Project Engineers—only to spend more time fixing their work—I built Remote Project Engineer so contractors can get experienced, reliable project support from day one.”
James Eric Orsillo, Founder
YOUR PM STAYS IN CONTROL | WE HANDLE THE WORKLOAD
YOU RUN THE PROJECT | REMOTE PROJECT ENGINEER WE RUNS THE WORK BEHIND IT
YOU'VE MADE IT THIS FAR. YOU PROBABLY HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS
If you’re still here, you’re probably asking the same questions we’d ask before bringing outside support onto a construction project. Here are the straight answers.
Who is Remote Project Engineer built for?
RPE is built for contractors who have more project workload than their current staff can comfortably manage.
Maybe you’re a subcontractor who can’t find or retain a qualified Project Engineer. Maybe you’re growing but aren’t ready to add another full-time employee. Maybe you’re an owner still handling submittals, RFIs, procurement and project paperwork yourself.
If you’re doing the paperwork, something else isn’t getting done.
RPE gives you experienced project capacity without immediately adding another permanent employee.
I'm a smaller contractor and I'm doing the paperwork myself. Is RPE really for me?
Yes. You may be one of the contractors who benefits from RPE the most.
If you’re the owner estimating the next job, getting quotes, talking to clients, managing the field—and then going home to process submittals, answer RFIs and organize project documents—you’ve become the bottleneck.
You don’t necessarily need another full-time employee. You need someone to take defined project-engineering workload off your desk.
You run and grow the company. We’ll help manage the work behind the project.
What's the biggest benefit of using Remote Project Engineer?
You get your time back.
Every hour your PM, Superintendent or company owner spends chasing submittals, following up on RFIs, organizing documents and updating logs is an hour they’re not managing the field, solving problems, getting quotes, pursuing work or running the company.
RPE takes assigned project-engineering workload off their desk.
The paperwork gets managed. Your people get back to managing the project.
Is RPE really cheaper than hiring another Project Engineer?
A full-time Project Engineer isn’t just a salary. Add payroll burden, benefits, insurance, recruiting, onboarding, PTO, equipment, software, training and the cost of carrying that employee when the workload slows down.
With RPE, you’re purchasing project capacity—not another permanent overhead position.
No medical. No dental. No PTO. No recruiting expense. No desk or computer to buy.
Pay for the support the project needs. Put the money against the project.
What if I can't find—or keep—a good Project Engineer?
That’s exactly one of the problems RPE was built to solve.
Good construction Project Engineers are difficult to find, expensive to recruit and often require months of training before they’re fully productive. Then you risk losing them and starting the process all over again.
RPE gives you another option: experienced project-engineering capacity without another recruiting cycle.
If you can find the right permanent employee and have enough continuous workload to keep them busy, hire them.
If you can’t, that’s where we come in.
How much do I commit before RPE starts working?
RPE begins with a 12-week minimum commitment, paid before project mobilization.
You receive a proper business invoice and can pay using approved business payment methods, including company credit card, ACH or wire transfer.
Once the agreement is executed, payment is received and we have the required project information, we mobilize your project and go to work.
No hidden employee costs. No payroll burden. You know the cost before we start.
How quickly can RPE get onto my project?
We don’t want onboarding to become another project for your PM.
Once the service agreement is complete, payment is received and you’ve provided the required project documents, contacts and access, we establish the project workflow and begin mobilization.
You give us the project information. We build the system around the assigned workload and get moving.
What happens when I don't need RPE anymore?
You’re not hiring another permanent employee.
The initial commitment is 12 weeks. After that initial commitment, continuation and cancellation are handled under your service agreement.
Construction workload changes. That’s one of the reasons RPE exists.
Add capacity when you need it. Don’t carry another full-time employee when you don’t.
How do I know the work will actually be done right?
RPE isn’t generic virtual assistance.
Our work follows defined construction workflows, document controls and an internal quality-assurance / quality-control process under senior project-management oversight.
We don’t simply process paperwork and hope for the best. We track the assigned workload, maintain the project record, identify outstanding items and escalate issues requiring your team’s attention.
The goal isn’t more paperwork. It’s controlled project administration you can rely on.
I already have a PM and Superintendent. Why would I need RPE?
Because we don’t replace them. We give them capacity.
Your PM should be managing the project. Your Superintendent should be managing the field. Neither should lose hours every day chasing documents, updating logs and following up on routine administrative items.
RPE works behind your existing team and takes on the project-engineering workload you assign us.
Your people stay in control. We help get the workload off their desks.
Do I have to change the way my company already works?
No. We’re joining your project, not asking you to rebuild your company around us.
Where access and licensing permit, RPE can work within your existing project-management environment, including systems such as Procore and other contractor platforms.
Or we can establish a controlled RPE workflow using our own project systems.
We adapt to the project. Your team shouldn’t have to adapt to us.
How difficult is it to get my project set up with RPE?
We designed onboarding to be straightforward.
You provide the project documents, specifications, drawings, addenda, contacts, existing logs and applicable project requirements. We organize the information, establish the project controls and create the workflow for the services you’ve purchased.
We can work through your authorized platform or establish controlled cloud-based project records.
You provide the project. We organize the workload.
Will RPE actually chase the people my PM doesn't have time to chase?
Yes—that’s part of the value.
Once your company authorizes RPE as part of the project team, we can coordinate directly with the appropriate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers and other project stakeholders within our assigned scope.
Outstanding submittal? We follow up.
Response overdue? We track it.
Vendor owes information? We pursue it.
Your PM stays informed without having to personally chase every outstanding item.
Are you going to advertise my company or project as one of your customers?
No.
We don’t need your company logo on our website or your project in our advertising to do our job.
RPE can execute reasonable NDAs and confidentiality agreements, maintain controlled project records and restrict information to authorized personnel.
We operate as an extension of your project team.
Your customer is your customer. Your project is your project. Your information stays your information.
If RPE is remote, how are you really part of my project team?
Remote doesn’t mean disconnected.
RPE can participate through project email, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, your project-management platform and scheduled project meetings as required by the service you’ve selected.
We maintain communication records, track assigned action items and coordinate with the people you’ve authorized us to work with.
We don’t need a trailer on your jobsite to take paperwork off your PM’s desk.
If I give RPE the paperwork, do I lose control of my project?
Absolutely not.
Your company retains project authority. Your PM and Superintendent remain responsible for running the project and field operation. Contractual decisions, technical approvals, safety and field supervision stay where they belong.
RPE handles the assigned project-engineering workload behind your team.
We’re taking work off your desk—not control out of your hands.
Is this really practical—or does outsourcing construction project support create more work?
It only makes sense if we remove more work than we create.
That’s why RPE is structured around actual construction workflows—not generic administrative outsourcing.
Give us the assigned workload, project requirements, access and authority we need. We establish the controls, manage the process, report exceptions and keep your team informed.
If your PM spends less time managing paperwork and more time managing the project, RPE is doing exactly what you hired us to do.
