DEDICATED PROJECT ENGINEER
ADD PROJECT ENGINEERING CAPACITY
WITHOUT ADDING ANOTHER W-2
Your Project Manager should not have to personally carry every RFI, submittal, document revision, change item, meeting action and closeout requirement across the project.
With the Dedicated Project Engineer service, RPE assigns a Project Engineer to work continuously behind your PM and Superintendent — learning the project, maintaining the records, following open items and staying involved as the job moves forward.
This is not task-by-task support. Your assigned Project Engineer becomes the consistent back-office extension of your project team.
Your team runs the project. Your RPE Project Engineer stays behind it every day.
YOU LEAD THE PROJECT
WE GIVE YOU THE PROJECT ENGINEER BEHIND IT
Projects move faster when the same person knows the history, understands the open issues and follows the paperwork from one decision to the next.
Your dedicated RPE Project Engineer stays involved throughout the engagement — maintaining continuity, following unresolved items and keeping the administrative side of the project from falling back onto your PM.
ONE ENGINEER. ONE PROJECT. CONTINUOUS FOLLOW-THROUGH.
Instead of re-explaining the job every time something comes up, your PM has one consistent back-office point of support who can pick up the next RFI, revision, change item, meeting action or closeout requirement without starting from zero.
Less handoff. Less lost context. More continuity behind the project.
ONE PROJECT ENGINEER FOLLOWING YOUR PROJECT
Instead of handing individual administrative tasks to different people, you have one assigned RPE Project Engineer who understands the project history, current priorities, outstanding items and documentation systems.
They remain involved throughout the engagement — maintaining continuity between your Project Manager, Superintendent, subcontractors, vendors and project records.
You keep project authority. We provide the dedicated Project Engineer behind it.

GIVE YOUR PROJECT MANAGER BACK THEIR TIME
A DEDICATED RPE PROJECT ENGINEER TAKES OWNERSHIP OF THE PROJECT-ENGINEERING WORKLOAD THAT KEEPS PULLING YOUR PM INTO THE WEEDS.
HOW DEDICATED SUPPORT WORKS
ONE ENGINEER FOLLOWING THE PROJECT FROM DAY TO DAY
A dedicated Project Engineer is different from sending individual tasks to a back-office service. Your assigned RPE Project Engineer becomes familiar with the drawings, specifications, subcontractors, project history, open issues and documentation systems so each new task begins with project knowledge already in place.

LEARN THE PROJECT — NOT JUST THE NEXT TASK
Your assigned Project Engineer becomes familiar with the contract documents, project organization, subcontractors, vendors, communication procedures and open project issues. As the engagement continues, that knowledge stays with the same person. When a new RFI, revision, submittal, change or field question appears, your PM does not have to explain the history from the beginning. Your RPE Project Engineer already understands where the issue fits within the larger project.

KEEP THE DAILY PROJECT-ENGINEERING WORK MOVING
Construction generates a constant stream of small but important administrative actions. Your Project Engineer monitors what has been received, what requires action, what is awaiting a response and what needs to move next. Submittal Management and RFI Management remain controlled processes, but the dedicated engineer also understands how those items connect to the rest of the job. The goal is simple: fewer loose ends and less project-engineering work falling back onto your PM.

MAINTAIN THE PROJECT’S WORKING RECORD
Your dedicated Project Engineer helps keep the project record organized as information changes throughout construction. Revised drawings, correspondence, RFIs, submittals and supporting documents are maintained through Document Revision Control so the team can identify what is current, what has been superseded and what information was distributed. Because the same engineer remains involved, the record develops as one continuous project history instead of a collection of disconnected folders, emails and individual transactions.

FOLLOW OPEN ITEMS UNTIL THEY ARE RESOLVED
The value of a dedicated Project Engineer is not simply creating another log. It is having someone who remembers what is still open and continues following it. Change information, subcontractor responses, outstanding documents, approvals and unresolved questions remain visible until the required action occurs. Through Change Order Control and the other project systems, supporting information stays organized for PM review while your Project Manager continues to control pricing, contractual decisions and project authority.

HELP THE FIELD GET READY BEFORE THE WORK STARTS
Your RPE Project Engineer can support the preparation and control of Work Plans before scheduled activities reach the field. Current drawings, approved submittals, applicable RFIs and supporting project requirements can be assembled into a controlled work-plan package for review by your PM and Superintendent. Missing information or unresolved requirements become visible before crews mobilize, while your field leadership retains full responsibility for construction means, methods, sequencing and execution.

STAY WITH THE PROJECT THROUGH TURNOVER
The same continuity matters when construction begins moving toward completion. Your dedicated Project Engineer helps maintain Closeout Documentation & Control throughout the job instead of beginning the process during the final weeks. Required O&Ms, warranties, certifications, training records, final submittals and other turnover documents can be pursued and organized as they become available, creating a cleaner transition from active construction into final project closeou

STILL HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT A DEDICATED PROJECT ENGINEER?
HERE ARE THE STRAIGHT ANSWERS BEFORE YOU PUT RPE TO WORK BEHIND YOUR PROJECT TEAM.
YOU’VE MADE IT THIS FAR | YOU PROBABLY HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS
If you’re considering a Dedicated Project Engineer, you probably want to know how the assignment works, what they handle day to day, and where the boundaries are. Here are the straight answers.
What does a Dedicated Project Engineer actually handle?
Your Dedicated Project Engineer supports the day-to-day project-engineering workload behind your PM and Superintendent. That can include submittals, RFIs, document revision control, change-order support, work-plan support, closeout documentation, meeting follow-up, logs, and general project paperwork that keeps the job moving.
Is this a full-time person working only on my project?
This is a dedicated assignment to your project, but that does not automatically mean a rigid eight-hour onsite role. Construction workloads come in waves, so the support is structured around the actual project-engineering demands of the job, with one assigned person following the project and maintaining continuity.
Will the same person stay with my project?
Yes. That is the point of the Dedicated Project Engineer model. Instead of handing tasks to different people, you have one assigned support lead who learns the job, understands the history, and helps keep records, open items, and follow-up moving without starting from zero every time.
Will my Project Manager and Superintendent still stay in control?
Absolutely. Your field leadership stays in charge of the project. The Dedicated Project Engineer supports the process behind them — organizing records, preparing documentation, tracking open items, and helping keep the administrative workload under control.
Can the Dedicated Project Engineer attend or listen in on meetings?
Yes. (Online) Your assigned engineer can support coordination by joining calls or meetings, listening in, taking notes, tracking action items, and helping turn discussions into follow-up records and next steps. That added continuity helps keep important decisions from getting lost after the meeting ends.
Can they help with submittals and RFIs?
Yes. They can support submittal management from register development through tracking and follow-up, and they can also help organize, draft, log, and track RFIs. The goal is to keep packages complete, records current, and responses moving back to the field.
Can they help with document revisions and change orders?
Yes. They can help maintain revision logs, control incoming drawing updates, archive superseded files, issue targeted transmittals, and keep teams working from the right information. They can also support change-order documentation by organizing backup, collecting pricing support, tracking records, and preparing complete packages for PM review.
What does a Dedicated Project Engineer not do?
This service does not replace your PM, Superintendent, or field leadership, and it is not full CPM/P6 scheduling. It also does not take over commercial authority or project ownership. The role is to strengthen the project-engineering workload behind your team so the job stays organized, current, and moving.
Will RPE branding appear on my customer-facing documents?
No. The support works behind your team. Your company remains front-facing, and the project records are managed to support your process and your client relationships.
Can they help with work plans and short-look-ahead planning?
Yes — at the project-engineering support level. Your Dedicated Project Engineer can help organize three-day or three-week look-ahead materials, assemble work-plan packages, track constraints, and support the Superintendent with the administrative side of short-range planning. This is not full P6 scheduling or baseline CPM scheduling.
Can they help with closeout before the end of the project?
Yes. Closeout should not wait until the last minute. Your Dedicated Project Engineer can help build the closeout matrix, track O&Ms, warranties, as-builts, turnover requirements, and missing documents throughout the job so final closeout is more organized and less painful.
Can they help create other project paperwork my team needs?
Yes. If your team needs help organizing or generating project paperwork — such as logs, forms, meeting records, delivery tracking, safety-related documentation support, risk or planning support files, or similar administrative project records — your Dedicated Project Engineer can help build and maintain those files as part of the support process.
Can they work inside our systems, or do we have to use yours?
Either approach can work. If you already use a platform such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, SharePoint, Google Drive, or another document-control system, the Dedicated Project Engineer can work within your structure when access is provided. If needed, RPE can also operate a controlled support workflow to keep the records organized.
Will they communicate directly with my Architect or Owner?
The Dedicated Project Engineer supports your team from behind the scenes. Your PM and company remain the client-facing authority. We help prepare, organize, and track the information so your team stays in control of formal project communication.
Can they communicate with subcontractors and vendors?
Yes, when it supports the project-engineering process. Your Dedicated Project Engineer can help follow up on submittals, pricing backup, missing documents, vendor information, and other project records needed to keep the workflow moving.
What if the project workload suddenly spikes?
That happens in construction. If submittals stack up, revisions hit all at once, or a burst of RFIs and change documentation starts consuming too much time, we address it with you directly. The goal is to help your team stay ahead of the paperwork and have a conversation early if additional support is needed.
